| ECM supported local charities over the festive period.
In any recession, charities are often the hardest hit. The pound in peoples’ pockets has to go that much further, meaning that the valuable work of our charities is threatened.
That’s why in 2008, ECM decided to support two local charities rather than send out Christmas cards. We therefore made donations to the following:
Candlelighters is based at the Children’s Day Hospital at St. James, Leeds (“Jimmy’s”) and is dedicated to combatting childhood cancer, leukaemia and serious blood disorders and to making the lives of the children and their families more bearable.
Dove House Hospice is a charity based in Kingston upon Hull providing care for people in the local community with life limiting illnesses, such as cancer. They are specialists in the total care of patients whose illness is no longer curable and for whom the goal must be quality of life.
We’ve included links to these charities’ websites, so that you can see the work they do – you may even care to make a donation yourself.
